Feeling thankful

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning great is your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him.” Lamentations 3:22-24.

Today at our church harvest service, the sermon was based on this passage of scripture above. It was so refreshing to sit, listen and focus on thankfulness alone; and my heart was bursting with joy, gladness and praise for all God has done for me. For the past 2 days I’ve been overwhelmed by the MANY reasons I have to be thankful, I can’t stop feeling thankful and there isn’t just a few things to be thankful for, there are so many reasons to be thankful that they cannot be counted.

I know it can be easy to get bogged down with the bad circumstances in life. Yes, some days I get upset, annoyed and wish I could take my EDS away. However that doesn’t mean I am not thankful. To me it doesn’t matter what my circumstances are, I have Jesus and that is all that matters.

This is a very short blog post, but an important yet simple one. An encouragement for us all that regardless of what you’re facing in life at the moment, take your eyes off your circumstances and focus on Jesus.

Jesus, my hope, who forgives, heals, renews, redeems and crowns me with love and mercy. My body may be failing me but my Saviour never will. His love remains forever, steadfast and secure. I really love the passage of scripture which we studied today, particularly the following line,

“His mercies NEVER come to an end.” v23.

I find this so refreshing and I feel full of thankfulness for God. I am thankful that regardless of what life may throw at me my hope is in Jesus, there will always be the cross where the love of God stands true.

“The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning, it’s time to sing that song again. Whatever may pass and whatever comes before me. Let me singing when the evening comes.”

With love,

  1. Carla, I read all of your posts as they come to my email and I have yet to not be inspired and encouraged. I apologize for not letting you know this before now. Life tends to happen and before you know it you have neglected some very important things, like “liking” and commenting on blog posts of someone like you. May God continue to grow you, encourage you and inspire you to speak of His glory in your life. I am thankful for you and your blog. You are a blessing to me. May God bless you and your family and your endeavors to serve Him.

    1. Hi Sharon,

Do not worry, I understand, I too have got behind with “liking” and commenting on blog posts. Thank-you so much for continuing to read my blog and you always encourage, comfort and uplift me by your messages. Thank-you! I hope you are keeping well.

      God Bless!
